Your thoughts on the presentation: This presentation demonstrated how the presenter took hundreds of students on a ”virtual” trip around the world, to China. Silvia Tolisano traveled to China and brought her school with her. Using web 2.0 tools, her students shared Silvia’s experiences with her. She communicated with them through the obvious avenues: photos and videos. Silvia also created and updated a blog for communication between her and the students.
How this topic can relate to your job or education: I like the way she used the tools to bring her students along on a virtual field trip. I’ve envisioned using blogs in my classroom, but have not been given much support from my school. Her work is an inspiration in me continuing my fight to create the student blogs.
Did this presentation spark any ideas for you to incorporate in your classroom, training, etc.: The presentation further showed the educational impact of technology in the classroom.
